Giusti is the oldest producer of Balsamic Vinegar in the world. Founded in Modena in 1605, it is run at present by the family’s 17th generation. Over the course of its history it has obtained numerous forms of recognition thanks to the quality of its products, and is thus acknowledged as its most prestigious and most greatly recognised producer. We can boast, in fact, 14 Gold Medals awarded in the course of national and international fairs during the closing years of the 19th century, when Giusti vinegar had already been introduced and recognised as a product of truly high quality in Florence, Paris, Vienna, Brussels, and in many other Italian and European cities.
Since 1929, Aceto Giusti has been the Sole Official Supplier to the Royal House of Savoy, representative of the King of Italy, and was previously the choice of both the Duke of Modena and of several Popes of the Roman Catholic Church. The whole series of these honours was grouped together, at the beginning of the 20th century, in the well-known bottle and “Giusti” label: an Art Nouveau composition of the many 19th-century medals acquired, which soon became an icon in the sector and was cited and shown in several museums of contemporary art.
Today, Giusti stands out in tastings organised by the most important Italian and international journals of the sector, from Altroconsumo (Italy) to SpecialityFood (USA), Der Feinschmacker (Germany), and many others. It has collected mentions in numerous guides and magazines, to the point of being inserted in the international best seller “101 Things to Buy Before You Die", alongside products such as Krug Champagne and Crystal, Château Petru, Château Mouton Rothschild, and other such legendary commodities.
Giusti vinegars are currently available in 50 countries, where they are used by the most renowned chefs and are sold in the most exclusive boutiques, department stores, and hotels, from Harrods to Buji Al Arab.
The Giusti company, backed up by a rooting that has no equal in tradition, is both a dynamic and young reality, in which family values are combined with the motivation and modernity of a young team of more than 30 persons, who classify it at the forefront by using modern means of communication, web-marketing, and the Social Networks.
The production, the demand for which continues to grow, exceeds one million bottles, and can satisfy any sort of requirements as far as quality and price are concerned.
The ancient premises dedicated to the making and conserving of vinegar, which date back to the 17th century, and the Museum of the History of Giusti Balsamic Vinegar are currently a centre of attraction for chefs, sommeliers, journalists and enthusiasts, who come from all over the world to visit them.
The firm is also involved in various projects and collaborations with cooking schools. These include visits and laboratories relative to the making of vinegar. Lastly, Giusti offers an educational course in Balsamic Vinegar for primary and secondary schools in the Region, in accordance with local education authorities.
