The 'short' of the director Giuseppe Ferlito entitled "Signum. The story of a brand focused on Torrini of Florence 1369, the oldest goldsmith family of the World, won the first prize in the national contest
" Ancient Future ", organized by the Italian Historic Enterprises Union, the association of 45 ultra- centenarian companies of 7 regions of Italy, able to 'bill' far 10,105 years of longevity.
It ranked second place the movie "Pasta Amara" of Ivano Fachin and dedicated to the brand Antica Dolceria Bonajuto of Modica (Ragusa), since 1880 specializing in the production of high quality chocolate; third place for 'short' entitled "A story to medal" by Antonio Chiavacci who explained the history of the company "Picchiani and Barlacchi" in Florence, dedicated since 1896 to the artistic achievement of medals.
There were ten short films which the jury of the national contest "Ancient Future", chaired by Cinzia TH Torrini, was selected from a large list of candidates coming from Italian and foreign directors and filmmakers. Among them, they received an honorable mention in the short film "The last button" of Francesco Azzini about Harmonics Dallapè 1876 Stradella (Pavia); "The track for tomorrow" of Damiano Bedini about the Company Silvio Meletti 1870 Ascoli Piceno; "At the root" of Daniele Cribari about Licorice Amarelli 1731 Rossano (Cosenza); "A hundred years of history Borsalino" by Elisa Silvestri on the company Borsalino 1857 Alessandria.
During the evening at the Odeon Cinema in Florence, the President of the Foundation Spadolini New Anthology Cosimo Ceccuti tackled the subject "Florence Capital and its businesses history" while Ugo di Tullio (Professor of Organization of Entertainment Film at the University of Pisa) spoke on the value of the product-short film. Also present were the Councillor for Economic Development of the City of Florence Giovanni Bettarini, the Councelor for Policies of the Territory Elizabeth Meucci and the Regional President Eugenio Giani, Chairman of the Florence Capital.
The national competition "Ancient Future", realized with the contribution of Toscana Energia 1845 and entered in the celebrations of 150 years of Florence Capital, has achieved great success both in terms of competitors both in terms of spectators flocked to the Odeon Cinema in Florence to attend this authentic cinematic tribute to the real longest Made in Italy.
